Niche Marketing – Keyword Research BEAST!

I don’t know why I haven’t written about this software yet, I’ve been using it for quite some time and LOVE would be an understatement.

It makes keyword research a breeze and saves TONS OF TIME! Remember when you had to use a handful of sources to research your keywords and then you still had even more research to do to figure out your competition? This software does all of that with the push of a few buttons, seriously.

You put in a keyword, set your parameters and then it will give you all the info you need about that keyword and give you a list of other relevant keywords that you can check out. It shows all the stats you need: how many broad, exact and phrase searches there are per day; how many hits you can expect if you’re number 1; the value of the keyword; whether it’s more of a buying or informational keyword; how stiff the competition is; PPC data, and even where your competition is getting its links from (great way to compete with them). You can even sort and export the data.

I use it for my niche research and for my clients. My marketing got much easier once I started using it.

When I first came across it, I did the free trial and at the end of it there was no way I could give it up. It was well worth the investment (small investment I might add); best money I’ve spent in marketing to-date.

And the guys behind it…AMAZING! They are constantly updating it, they give it holiday themes (not a huge deal but I enjoy it, just refreshing when I open it up near a holiday and it’s all themed out) and their support cannot be rivaled with.

They’ve also added a domain feature that’s pretty nifty and they have a library of videos to help you along the way.

When I say they could easily charge 10x what they charge, I’m NOT even kidding. Take the free trial and see if you don’t agree. Run a few keywords through and see if you’re not in love for life, I challenge you to say there’s something better out there. It gives you all the data you need on your keywords and all of the info you need to outrank your competition.

Craiglist Ghosting, Flagging & AutoPosting

TONS of you loved the last Craigslist program I sent you to for your Craigslist marketing management, for not having to worry about the flagging and ghosting anymore and even for auto-creating accounts and auto-posting ads…and then they closed the program.  It happens.

So I’ve been on the hunt, and testing, various other Craigslist software and I have found a new solution for you and it rocks.

It does everything you need, including:

Things you should know before using:

• it doesn’t work with Window 7 at this time (not sure if there are plans for this)
• it doesn’t work on Mac BUT you can install Parallels to run any Windows based program on a Mac
• you have to have .net framework installed and Microsoft Visual C++ (you probably do but just don’t know it but if you don’t they are VERY easy to install & free).  A lot of these programs require these.
• you need Internet Explorer 7 or below. Even if you don’t use IE, you just need it installed on your computer (and you probably do because it’s on Windows computers by default) You don’t have to use IE yourself, the program just uses it

With this software you can ensure your ad stays at the top all of the time, hands-free; again you avoid stupid flagging & ghosting issues; you can post across multiple cities and categories and more. It’s well worth the one-time investment and their support is GREAT! You won’t find another program like it, believe me I’m always looking for and using various auto programs. It took me a while to find this one and I’m hooked, it’s even better than the last one because it has a few more features and offers the optional CAPTCHA bypass solution.

Top Google Rankings

We all want them right?  Getting to the front page of Google is everyone’s goal.  It’s the most trafficked page so it delivers the most traffic to you.

So, how do you get there?  Especially with all the competition?  There are a number of ways from social media tactics, to tiresome link building and more.  Did I say tiresome?  I MEAN tiresome.

Most of my “work” time is spent building “hub” pages and links and sometimes the link submissions get really mundane.

So, I’m always in the loop of how to get more traffic, how to get good Google rankings and how to simply get found.  My entire existence right now is based on staying updated on the best ways to do this.  I love this stuff.

So I tried a new system for Google rankings.  and it works nicely!  Most current techniques involve social bookmarking (one of my favorites, and very effective) or something totally blackhat, which you have to be careful of, but this one doesn’t – which is one reason it peaked my interest.  I was curious as to what it could be.

It doesn’t take much time at all and you don’t have to keep coming back to it every day, which is great because there’s always so much other stuff that needs attention.

Keywords Tool

(I should have delivered this fab tool and this post to you a long time ago…my apologies.  I’ve been buried under several things I’m working on and I was just using this tool and realized that I haven’t even told you about it!)

Keywords, the “key” “words” people will use to find your site, blog, content, etc.

There are a number of free keyword tools out there and they will suffice for your very basic research but there are also some paid keyword tools out there that will help you really knock the socks off of your competition and dominate a niche if used properly.

Doing in depth keyword research that pulls from a variety of sources, compiles an array of statistics and manages the information for you can be invaluable to your investment in your marketing efforts.

I’ll admit, I’m a cheapO!  If I can do something for free vs. paid, a lot of times I will but I will also admit there is a time and place for everything.  And I’ve found there is definitely a time for doing REAL keyword research…and I’ve found that it can yield serious results.

I have all of the details outlined as to how to perform serious keyword research all by myself, for free but ummm, the time it takes can get a little ridiculous if I want to get down to the nitty gritty, so I finally figured out that it’s not really free after all because I’m investing my time into it.  Time that I could be, and need to be,  investing into something else.  I don’t have endless amounts of time to spend on one thing…unfortunately (if I’d ever just hit that stupid lottery!)

To get to the point, I broke down and tried a paid keyword tool for a $1 trial.  I fell in love.  The simplicity…oh my, it was great!  The results…from the basic to the nitty gritty, in no time.  Everything I needed to know about the keywords in whatever I was working on was right there at my fingertips and it was so easy to manipulate.

What had I been missing out on this whole time that I turned my nose up to paying for something that I thought I could do just as well for free?

And something else I really love is that it’s actually a “service” and not just a “tool”.  It keeps getting better and better; they keep bringing more to the table.

And the customer service is great.  They’re quick to respond and they’re so friendly…something that is a MUST for me.  If your customer service sucks, I’ll toss you to the side quickly.  I despise today’s automation of customer service and I demand a REAL, and friendly, PERSON to handle my questions or concerns.  That’s just me.  I have my standards!

But I like that they are active.  It’s not just “Hey, here’s a tool.  Buy it and we may or may not ever upgrade/deliver higher quality to you; you may or may not get satisfactory customer service; and we may or may not stay involved in what we do on more than one level.”

It’s totally the opposite.  Blah, this is getting longer than I like my reviews to be LOL but I guess that’s because I really like this service a lot and talking about it gets me a little excited!

Okay, so aside from it actually being a “service” (and I’d even go so far to call it a “live service” even though live people aren’t necessarily picking your keywords); having fab customer service, and staying on top of, and in, the game; here are some of the things it does:

• See history and month-by-month keyword activity
• Create a comparison chart that allows you to compare a bunch of keywords and see what’s rising or falling in demand
• Allows you to do what you would normally do in a BUNCH of windows all in one place
• Gathers info from various sources, not just one or two…or even three
• Even find “typo” keywords that can be goldmines
• Find niche products
• Allows you to easily manage your results and prospective keywords
• and more than I can even keep going into!

Social Networking Guide

This is a really great resource guide.  It lists hundreds of Web 2.0  sites in every category and of every niche.  It’s very helpful in finding the sites you want to utilize in your social networking / social marketing journey and it’s also just a great way to find helpful sites.  You’re sure to come up with plenty of ideas while browsing these resources too.  It’s like a ‘phone book’ of Web 2.0 properties.

I really don’t even know where to begin to tell you how much they cover in this guide.  There are over 3,000 sites with a brief explanation of what each site is about.   I consider myself an Internet / Social Media Guru but there are useful sites here I’ve never heard of.

I get most of my backlinks from social sites and as a Social Marketer for hire it’s important I stay up-to-date with developments and sites in my niche.  While I haven’t had time to read the whole directory or make a list of the sites I most want to check out and use, I’m certain it’s going to be very useful to me.  They even have each site entry tagged for easy searching.

It’s got the most popular social networking sites and even new social networking sites (I’m sure more will pop up though!_
